The Theta Delta Chi Experience
Cal’s Charge of ΘΔΧ, the Delta Deuteron Charge, was chartered in 1900. Located a block from Campus at the corner of College and Durant, TDX is a beautiful home to 40 brothers and has 60 active members. TDX is well known on campus for our social events, which are common throughout a semester.
We’re big on campus, but small enough for everybody to feel like they have a close second family at Cal. With plenty of brotherhood events every semester, the brothers of TDX are some of the closest on campus. Becoming a part of our brotherhood means that you’ll be making lifelong friends with people who care about you and know you.
Theta Delta Chi is well known as one of the most diverse and well-rounded fraternities on the Berkeley campus, both in the types of brothers and the things that we do with brothers and friends.

Academics
At Theta Delta Chi, we understand that academics are the reason that every brother is here at Cal, so it’s well understood that academics are a priority. With many brothers in technical majors, it’s easy to get help or class advice from brothers of the house who are always willing to help. Creating a positive academic environment is one of the major goals of our house.
Diverse academic disciplines
We take academics seriously, with a 3.4 average GPA – one of the highest in the Greek community. Our membership is not selected by academic interests or pursuits–members are engaged in a variety of academic disciplines.
The house social culture takes into account the primary focus of our time at UC Berkeley. We’re here to learn, graduate, and become successful in business.
To support this goal our fraternity has enforced study hours, a library room large enough for study groups, and an archive of study materials from guys who have completed the classes you’re about to take.
Brotherhood
TDX is one of the closest brotherhoods on campus. Every brother can feel like they belong as part of this group and there’s no better way to spend time at the house than with all of the brothers. Living in the house is possible and our rates are affordable for every member. It’s a great option for your college residence. TDX is one of the nicest historic Greek houses and has an amazing location right by campus.
Philanthropy
Philanthropy demonstrates how Greek Life can give back to the community that sustains it and is one of the best ways to interact with the community of Cal as a whole. Learn more about our Philanthropy on the website page.
IM Sports
Although several brothers are involved in organized campus athletics, there is still opportunity outside of this to be a competitor. With sports ranging from Ultimate Frisbee and Basketball to Soccer and Dodgeball, TDX gives any brother a chance to get involved.

SOCIAL LIFE
TDX has been throwing creative theme parties on campus for decades (our annual Halloween party was even featured in a 1980 edition of Playboy Magazine). A typical social semester for TDX includes several big parties, sorority exchanges, brunches, weekend and summer trips, and other unique events.

Leadership Experience
Leadership Skills Come From Experience
Although it is possible to get involved in campus leadership, opportunities in fraternity leadership positions are more numerous. Our house activities are almost entirely self-governed. Position responsibilities range from external relations and budget management to event planning, social development and philanthropy organization. Brothers also have opportunities interact with leaders from our national fraternity, and become leaders in our national organization.
FULFILLING COLLEGE YEARS
Becoming a part of ΘΔΧ gives brothers the opportunity to experience a fulfilling and enriching college career by giving back to the community, taking leadership roles, joining a diverse and supportive group of lifelong friends, and getting involved in the campus community.
